TYP Entrepreneurship |
|
|
|
In 2010, TYP will launch an
entrepreneurship initiative. TYP
Entrepreneurship is
designed to create a network of
entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs, for
entrepreneurs. Like other TYP
initiatives, TYP Entrepreneurship will be one part
social, and one part educational. As
TYP Entrepreneurship develops, we
will introduce a series to educate
technologists about other aspects of
entrepreneurship, developing a
business, raising capital and taking
products to market. To learn more

Entrepreneurship |
|
|
|
As a result of
the economic slowdown, there is a
growing interest in starting new
business ventures, buying existing
businesses, or buying franchises. In
an era of mass-layoffs and
downsizing, it is not uncommon for
business people, including young,
aspiring entrepreneurs to senior
executives to be on the search for
new opportunities.
For those with an entrepreneurial
streak and a good business plan,
starting over with an entirely new
business may be the best option.
While this option may have the most
risk, it may have the most upside.
Some common
considerations when starting a new
business include:
-
Choosing an
appropriate entity for your
business
-
Developing a viable
business plan
-
Preparing a
buy-sell or shareholder
agreement by and among the
shareholders of your new company
-
Raising capital through personal
funding, commercial loans, or
from angel investors
-
Preparing
and negotiating basic contracts
such as
employment
agreements,
leases,
licenses, terms
&
conditions, and sales and
distribution agreements
-
Marketing and commercializing
your services and products
