Texas Young Professionals
Texas Young Professionals is a rapidly-growing forum and professional network for young professionals in their 20s to mid-40s from various industries across Texas. There is no membership fee to join Texas Young Professionals.
 
Community Initiatives: "Do-Goodery"
TYP is just now celebrating its first anniversary. From an early stage, we knew that we wanted to support local charities and encourage members to participate in service projects. As TYP has grown, our commitment to that idea has become stronger.

At all of our mixers in Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Fort Worth, we highlight a local charity. We have been collecting in-kind donations such as canned food for local food banks and coats for a homeless shelter. In March, we plan to send a TYP team to participate in a charity fundraiser 5k, just as we did with the St. Jude 5k last fall.  At Christmas, we held a small toy drive in support of Child Advocates.

We have formed a community initiatives committee that is actively looking for charities to support and collaborate with in service projects in each of our cities.

Ashleigh Davis is the principal of Ashford Davis, an online marketing solutions agency based in San Antonio. Ashleigh has an MBA in Project Management from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from the University of Texas at Austin. TYP has formed a non-profits and charities subgroup on our LinkedIn forum. TYP is committed to supporting & promoting local nonprofit organizations in Houston, Dallas, Austin, Fort Worth & San Antonio. We encourage volunteering, fundraising, service & humanitarian oriented nonprofits. Join us if you are a volunteer, fundraiser or director at a non-profit charity. Ideally, this forum would be a place where charities and charitable-minded members can exchange ideas and promote their events.
